Bulldogs Underway In Colorado

The Fresno State women's golf team is off to a good start at the 2010 Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. At the end of the first day the `Dogs are in tenth place with a team score of 595.
"The ladies played great in the first round," said proud head coach Angie Cates-Moore.
After the first round the `Dogs were tied with Long Beach State for sixth place out of the 17 teams competing. Fresno State's team score was a low 292 as they prepared to enter the second round of competition.
Junior Louisa Lies opened the course with a bogey on her first hole and was leading the Bulldogs with a score of 69. Lies was tied for second overall in the tournament with Jaclyn Jansen from Baylor, Rebecca Helbam from New Mexico, and Emily Talley from Colorado after the first round.
The final scores for the Bulldogs after the round one were: Louisa Lies-69, Hillary Billingsley-73, Shaylee Yano- 74, Krysta Clark-76, Chelsea Czinski-76.
The ladies concluded their second round of golf this evening with a team score of 303 and are currently in tenth place.
"We have a great game plan for this course and everyone stuck to it today," said Cates-Moore. "They all played smart golf and we are ready for tomorrow."
Lies finished her second round with a score of 74 bringing her total score to 143 for the day. She is currently tied for tenth place with Brianna Espinoza from Colorado State, Jaclyn Jansen from Baylor, and Kendra Little from Oregon.
"Louisa hit the most amazing golf shot on her second to last hole today," said Cates-Moore. "We also have two girls on the road with us who have never competed in a collegiate tournament before. I am really proud of the whole team."
The final scores for the Bulldogs after the second round were: Louisa Lies-74 (143), Shaylee Yano-75 (149), Hillary Billingsley-78 (151), Krysta Clark-77(153), and Chelsea Czinsk-77(153).
