Fresno State Opens UNLV Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State men's tennis competed in their first match of their 2010-11 season against the Pepperdine Waves at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas, Nev. on Friday, Sept. 17.
The Bulldogs started the day off splitting the doubles point 2-2 and proceeded to drop 5 singles matches to the Waves, resulting in a final sore of 7-5.
The Bulldogs played with strength and teamwork in the doubles matches splitting the point 2-2. Siddharth Alapati/Jean-Charles Diame def. Alex Lompart/Jenson Turner and Hugo Verdi Fortin/David Ayoun def. Stuart Keplar/Daniel Moss in the doubles matches.
Fresno State's Remi Boutillier stood out for the Bulldogs as he pulled out a victory over the Waves, Alex Llompart, 7-6, 6-4.
Junior, David Ayoun stepped up on the court when he defeated Pepperdine's Jenson Turner, 6-1, 6-2.
Tomorrow Fresno State continues in the UNLV Invitational and will be matched up against the UNLV Rebels at 10 a.m. All nine Bulldogs on the roster are expected to be in competition.
