Bulldogs Battle Seminoles in LA

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 28 Fresno State (1-0, 0-0) takes on No. 14 Florida State (4-0, 0-0) for the first round of the ITA National Team Indoors Sweet 16 on Friday, January 28 at 10:00 a.m.
In last year's 2010 National Team Indoor Sweet 16, No. 26 Fresno State battled with top-ranked USC in the first round, with the Trojans coming away with a 4-0 victory. The Dogs then faced-off with No. 9 Stanford in the consolation bracket, with the Cardinal picking up a 4-0 victory. On the final day of action, Fresno State met No. 12 Illinois in the consolation bracket, with the Illini coming away with a 4-2 victory.
Fresno State is compiled of the No. 69 singles player Remi Boutillier. The junior from Briancon, France is 6-3 on the year and 1-0 in the spring season.
The Dogs also host the No. 21 doubles team Boutillier and Rikus de Villiers. They are 9-2 on the 2010-11 year and 1-0 in the spring season.
The last time the Seminoles competed in the National Team Indoors Sweet 16 was in 2009 where they battled at the time No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs in the first round and the Bulldogs won, 4-1.
Florida State is home to nationally ranked singles players, No. 37 Clint Bowles and No. 42 Vahid Mirzadeh.
The only time these two teams have faced one another on the courts was in 2005 when Fresno State dropped the match 4-1.
The winner of the match between Florida State and Fresno State will face the winner of No. 6 UCLA and No. 33 Minnesota. The winners will play at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29. The consolation match will be at 6:00 p.m.
