MALIBU, Calif. -
The `Dogs are well on their way to being the ITA Southwest Regional Champions.
Senior Remi Boutillier and sophomore Francis Alcantara wiped out Saturday's brackets in doubles play. The duo took an easy, 8-1, win against Cal Poly's Jurgen DeLager and Brian McPhee in the Round of 16.
The `Dogs paved the way to Sunday's Semifinals after defeating Southern California's Yannick Hanfmann and Daniel Nguyen, 8-3 in the Quarterfinals.
Alcantara not only advanced to the Semifinals for doubles, but also for singles play too. The sophomore took the win in the Quarterfinals against San Diego's Patrick Pohlmann, 6-3, 6-2. Alcantara continues his journey to the finals on Sunday, Oct 23.
In the consolations bracket, senior Jean-Charles Diame and junior Zach Leslie are dong well--so well that they will compete against each other in in the Semifinals.
Both Diame and Leslie defeated their opponents in the Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, resulting in Sunday's tournament to be between the two Bulldogs.
This is not the first time the two `Dogs have gone head-to-head in a tournament. At the annual Bulldog Classic, Leslie and Diame competed against each other in the Semifinals. Diame eventually took the win, 6-3, 6-4.
