`Dogs Shine In Sin City

It's said that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, but when the Fresno State men's tennis team hit the court at the Larry Easley Memorial Classic, the wins aren't kept a secret.
All three Bulldogs placed in Flight 1 singles advanced to the Quarterfinals on Friday. Senior Jean-Charles Diame defeated Irvine's Fabian Mathews, 6-2, 6-3, while junior Zachary Leslie took an easy, 6-3, 6-2 win against New Mexico's Mitch McDaniels. Sophomore Francis Alcantara, who recently earned the runner-up champion title at the ITA Southwest Regional in Malibu, went neck-and-neck with Arkansas's Nicholas Zogai and eventually claimed the win, 7-5, 7-5.
In the Quarterfinals, Alcantara played the host team's Alex Bull and advanced with an easy win, 6-2, 6-4. The sophomore continues at 9 a.m. on Saturday to the Semifinals.
Alcantara also teamed up with Diame in doubles play to take on Irvine's Shibahara and Jung. The `Dogs pulled in an, 8-5 win and will compete on Saturday in the Semifinals for doubles play.
For Flight 2, senior David Ayoun and freshman Sai Kartik Nakireddi proceeded on after defeating their opponents in the First Round. Both players fell short in the Quarterfinals.
