Rain Causes Delay At Annual Classic

FRESNO,Calif. -The Fresno State women's tennis team crammed in as many matches as they could before the rain started at the 12th annual Bulldog Classic.
Senior Laura Pola and junior Olga Kirpicheva were not only able beat the weather, but also Cal Poly's Jocelyn Davis and Kathryn Web, 8-6 in doubles play.
Newcomer sophomore Tanya Murtagh took her first win on the home court against Pacific's Gergana Boncheva in an impressive, 6-2, 6-1 match.
Murtagh fell short with partner junior Bianca Modoc to CSU Stanislaus's Katie Eng and Verena Preikschas, 8-6 in doubles play.
The freshman Anne Susdorf also fell short in her singles match against Washington's Natali Coronel, 6-2, 6-3, however has a second chance in consolation play.
Sursdorf will continue in consolations play on Saturday. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. with doubles play and then resume with the matches that were scheduled on Friday.
