Bulldogs Gear Up For USC Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team will compete in the USC Collegiate Invitational Feb. 28 - March 1 at the North Ranch Country Club in Southern California. It is a very competitive field full of ranked teams, which includes No. 1 UCLA, No. 15 San Diego State, No. 17 Stanford, No. 18 San Diego, No. 21 Cal, No. 23 USC and No. 24 Washington. Last year at this tournament Bryan Hogan tied for fifth at 4-under par and the Dogs as a team finished seventh against a strong field. The Dogs are currently ranked second in the nation with 329 birdies.

After five tournaments Bhavik Patel has a scoring average of 71.30. Patel is ranked fourth in the nation for birdies with 83. Patel finished up the 2009-10 season with a scoring average of 71.58 which ranks him fourth in Fresno State's top five single season scoring averages. Patel is in pretty good company as PGA Tour star Nick Watney owned the top three Bulldog season scoring averages.
