FRESNO, Calif. - No. 31 Fresno State Bulldogs advance their record to 5-5 after defeating the No. 58 Arkansas Hogs (3-4) at Las Vegas, 4-0, Saturday.
The Bulldogs started the day off on a high note earning the doubles point from victories on courts one and two.
On court one, the No. 29 nationally ranked duo Remi Boutillier and Rikus de Villiers pushed Arkansas' top duo Matt Hogan and Matt Walters to a tiebreaker. Pulling ahead the Dogs earned the final two points and won the match, 9-8(5).
On court two, the dynamic duo made up of Jean-Charles Diame and Francis Alcantara added another win to their record against the Hogs' Grgoire Lehman and Chris Nott, clinching the doubles point, 8-3.
In singles, the Bulldogs picked up three straight matches, giving them the 4-0 victory.
No. 83 de Villiers on court No. 1, No. 89 Boutillier on court No. 2, and Siddharth Alapati on court No. 5 won victories.
Matches on courts four and six were well into their third match when the Bulldogs earned the final victories.
Fresno State travels to the Bay Area on March 3 to take on the powerful PAC-10 team, No. 20 California.
