Dogs Hosts Ranked Opponents

FRESNO, Calif. - The 28th-ranked Fresno State men's tennis team looks to continue its home winning streak as the Dogs welcome a pair of nonconference foes to the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center this weekend.

The Bulldogs face-off against No. 52 San Diego State on Friday, Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. and battle it out with No. 15 Texas Tech on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 12:30 p.m. The Aztecs and Red Raiders will also compete against one another on Saturday, Feb 5 at 2 p.m.
The Dogs are currently 1-0 this season, after defeating USF 6-1 at home on Jan. 23. Fresno State is home to the No. 69 ranked singles player Remi Boutillier and No. 21 ranked doubles team in Rikus de Villiers and Boutillier.
Texas Tech comes to Fresno on a four-match winning streak. The Red Raiders boast the No. 20 ranked Gonzalo Escobar. A junior, Escobar also makes up the 39th-ranked doubles team with Rafael Garcia.
The Aztecs compete at Fresno State with a 1-2 record for the season.
Fresno State is 11-7 all time against San Diego State and 1-2 against Texas Tech.
After this weekend of competition the Bulldogs will host Loyola Marymount on Feb. 11.
