Dogs Head to Nebraska

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 20 Bulldogs hit the road for the second-straight weekend for a three-game series against No. 29 Nebraska. Fresno State plays a total of 20 games away from Beiden Field this season. The Dogs are 2-0 on the road in 2011.
Fresno State vs. Nebraska
The last time the Bulldogs traveled to a Big 12 campus was in 2000 and played at Nebraska. The overall series record is tied 8-8. Fresno State won three of four games in 2010.
About the Huskers
Nebraska is 8-4 on the season and won two of three games against then No. 6 UCLA over the weekend. The Huskers broke into Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's poll at No. 29. The Huskers are hitting .303 with 24 doubles, three home runs and 45 RBIs. The pitchers have a team ERA of 3.33 and have struck out 96 batters.
Dogs Against Big 12 Schools
Fresno State has played eight of the 12 Big 12 conference schools. The Dogs are 18-14 against teams from the Big 12. The Bulldogs have winning records against Kansas State (2-0), Texas Tech (2-1) and Texas A&M (3-0). The series against Iowa State and Missouri are tied 1-1. Fresno State and Nebraska are also tied 8-8 in the overall series. Oklahoma State is the only school with a winning record over the Dogs (0-2). Fresno State has not played Baylor, Texas, Colorado or Oklahoma.
Bulldogs Versus Ranked Opponents
This week is the first time the Dogs face a ranked opponent. Both CSU Bakersfield and Nebraska broke into the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll. The Roadrunners are ranked No. 30 and the Huskers are ranked No. 29. The last ranked team the Dogs faced was then No. 25 New Mexico State last season.
Fresno State Streaks
The Bulldogs opened the season with a seven game winning streak. Senior Danny Muno has recorded a hit in every game this season. and including the final 10 games of the 2010 season, Muno has an active hitting streak of 20-games. He has the longest active hitting streak on the team. Center fielder Brennan Gowens has a five-game hitting streak heading into this weekend's series against Nebraska.
Red Hot on the Road
After one road trip in 2011, the Bulldogs are 2-0 on the road after sweeping UC Davis at Dobbins Baseball Complex. Fresno State hits the road this week for a three-game series at University of Nebraska. The Bulldogs were red hot on the road in 2010 and accumulated a record of 17-6 while away from Pete Beiden Field.
