Another Home Victory for the Dogs

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State earns its third victory over a ranked team this year, defeating No. 50 Santa Clara, 4-3, on Sunday at the Wathen Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs won the doubles point swiftly, and proceeded to win three singles matches in two sets on courts one, three and four to bring home the victory.
In doubles action Siddharth Alapati and David Ayoun earned their second victory together over Santa Clara's Eugene Muchynski and Eugene Lamble, 8-5.
No. 33 doubles team Remi Boutillier and Rikus de Villiers proved what a dynamic combination they are again, defeating Maxime Armengaud and Nicolas Vinel, 8-6 and clinching the doubles point for the Dogs.
Earning the first singles victory for the Bulldogs, Francis Alcantara defeated Nicolas Vinel, 6-3, 6-2 giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead over the Broncos.
Fresno State's No. 70 singles player Remi Boutillier continued to thrive on court one. The junior from Briancon, France, posted his second-straight win of the weekend, with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Kyle Dandan.
On court three, Jean-Charles Diame clinched the match for the Dogs with a win in straight sets over Santa Clara's John Lamble, 6-3, 6-2.
The Broncos earned victories on courts 2, 5 and 6.
The Bulldogs travel to New Mexico on March 26 to take on No. 31 Nebraska and No. 40 New Mexico on March 27.
