Moncur-Blue Ranked 8th in Nation

FRESNO, Calif. - J'Quyra Moncur-Blue, a sophomore from Miami, Fla. (East Side HS), heaved a personal and WAC-leading mark in the hammer throw at the USC Trojan Invitational over the weekend.
She marked a throw of 188 feet, two inches (57.36 meters) for an improvement of three feet from her previous best set at the NCAA West Regional in 2010. Moncur-Blue's mark tops the WAC by over eight feet and currently ranks eighth in the nation.
Moncur-Blue took second last year at the WAC Championships with a throw of 178-2 (13.81m). She then went on to place 16th at the NCAA West Regional and improved her personal best to 185-2 (56.45m). Moncur-Blue is an athlete who is carrying on the strong tradition of Fresno State field athletes.
Other field nominees included: Sarah Nutsch, Idaho; Jndia Cleveland, New Mexico State; and Amber Thompson, Utah State.
