Two Home Matches this Weekend

FRESNO, Calif. - The Wathen Tennis Center will be the site of two Fresno State men's tennis matches this week, as the Bulldogs kick things off with Cal Poly on Saturday.

The No. 51 Fresno State men's tennis team has two matches this weekend, as the Bulldogs host No. 49 Cal Poly Mustangs (6-2) on Saturday at 1 p.m. This will be the 21st meeting in the series history, with the Bulldogs holding a 16-4 all-time lead. Cal Poly boasts the No. 96 singles player in the country Andre Dome and the No. 41 doubles team Andre Dome and Alexander Sonesson.
On Sunday the Dogs will take on the No. 50 Santa Clara Broncos (9-4) at 12 p.m. at the Wathen Tennis Center. This will be the 17th meeting between these two teams and the Bulldogs hold a 16-0 lead of all-time over the Broncos.
Fresno State is 5-6 on the year and boasts the No. 70 singles player Remi Boutillier, as well as the No. 33 doubles team Remi Boutillier and Rikus de Villiers.
Making it to the Final Round
Last weekend the Dogs competed in the 122nd Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, Calif. Boutillier and de Villiers made an outstanding performance by advancing all the way to the final round. The Bulldogs battled the No. 7 doubles team Matthew Kandath and Denis Lin from Stanford but dropped the match in two.
Also making it to the final round, Siddharth Alapati and David Ayoun advanced to the final round in the consolation bracket.
