Track And Field Off To Mondo Challenge

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State returns to the track at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge at Hornet Stadium on Saturday, hosted by Sacramento State in Sacramento, Calif.

Some of the top mid-major track and field programs in the country will be on display Saturday, along with the Bulldogs, Sacramento State, Central Michigan, Wichita State, Utah State, Portland State, Montana, UC Davis, Nevada and several post collegiate athletes will all be competing in the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge at Hornet Stadium.
The three-day event begins on Thursday, April 7, with the start of the multi events. The heptathlon gets under way at 10 a.m. with the 100-hurdles. The decathlon starts shortly after with the 100 at 10:15 a.m. On Friday, the decathlon gets things going with a the 110-hurdles at 10 a.m. and the heptathlon begins at 11 a.m. with the long jump.
The main program of the meet will also begin on Friday with the men's and women's discus, men's and women's long jump, men's pole vault and men's high jump. The men's discus and men's long jump will both start at 4 p.m. with the other events following. Also, the men's and women's 5K will both be held on Friday evening starting at 7:30.
On Saturday, the remaining events will be held beginning with the women's hammer at 10:15. The first running event will be the women's 4x100 relay at 10:45 a.m. The final event, the 4x400 relay, is scheduled to begin at 2:50 p.m.
"We Are Your Team!" - The Fresno State track and field team travels to the Mondo Invitational in Sacramento April 9th. They return to Fresno at the end of the month to host the Bulldog Invitational at Buchanan High Schools Veterans Memorial Stadium. Admission will be free so come out and cheer on your Dogs.
