Duo Draws Auburn for NCAA Championship

FRESNO, Calif. - The NCAA Doubles Championships bracket were released on Wednesday and Fresno State's No. 15 doubles team Rikus de Villiers and Remi Boutillier will take on No. 12 Daniel Cochrane and Tim Puetz of Auburn for the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at the Taube Tennis Center in Stanford, Calif., time to be determined.

This will be de Villiers and Boutillier's second appearance in the doubles championships. This combo is 25-8 together this season and helped lead the Bulldogs to a WAC Championship title, an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and a first round 4-2 victory over Minnesota. The pair was also named First Team All-WAC selection in doubles for the second year in a row.
This is the first meeting between the two doubles teams.
The matchup will be Puetz and Cochrane's first appearance in the NCAA Doubles Championships.
If Boutillier and de Villiers advance to the second round, they will face the winner of the match between No. 27 Alex Domijan and Jarmere of Virginia or No. 4 Jeff Dadamo and Austin Krajicek of Texas A&M. The Bulldog duo will earn All-American honors if they advance to the quarterfinals.
The Championship match will be on May 30.
