Dogs Complete Play at NCAA Championship

FRESNO, Calif. - In the first round matchup of the NCAA Doubles Championship between Fresno State's 15th-ranked Rikus de Villiers and Remi Boutillier and Auburn's 12th-ranked Daniel Cochrane and Tim Puetz was a challenge from the get-go. The Dogs fell in the first set, 5-7 but rallied back in second only to fall in the second set tiebreaker Thursday afternoon at the Taube Stadium in Stanford, Calif.
Cochrane and Puetz picked up a 7-5 victory in the first set then finished with a 7-6 (6-2) win in the second.
Boutillier and de Villiers went 25-9 in 2010-11 season and earned First Team All-WAC honors in doubles and singles.
