
Moncur-Blue Advances To NCAA Championships

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team sent six student-athletes to the NCAA Division I West Regional, and sophomore J'Quyra Moncur-Blue advanced to the NCAA Championships June 8-11 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
J'Quyra Moncur-Blue advanced to the NCAA Championships with an 11th place finish in the hammer throw. Blue qualified with a throw of 58.18 in her final attempt during the NCAA Regionals held in Eugene, Ore.
Blue also competed in the shot put, but failed to advance out of the regionals. This is the second straight year a thrower has advanced to the NCAA Championships for Fresno State.
Fresno State had strong showing by five student-athletes, but failed to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Breeauna Thompson finished 39th in the 200-meter with a time of 24.81 and Latrisha Jordan placed 35th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.08.
In the javelin, Christina Cabias finished 35th with a throw of 41.20 and in the men's 400-meter, Remington Blair finished 42nd with a time of 48.69. Justin Lovingood finished 33rd in the triple jump with a distance of 14.92.
