FRESNO, Calif. - After winning the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Tournament and reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament, some members of the Fresno State men's tennis team have been swinging well and competing against in prime form during a series of summer tournaments.
The duo of current Bulldog sophomore Nick Papac and a former Dog - Rudy Siwy - made a strong run to the Main Draw finals in a Futures 19 competition in Tulsa, Okla. before falling 6-2, 6-3 to the tandem of Benjamin Rogers (USA) and John-Patrick Smith (AUS) during Friday's action.
This is the third tournament of the summer for Papac and Siwy, whose previously best performance saw the partners make the semifinals of a Futures 17 tournament in Chico, Calif. earlier this offseason.
