13 DAYS UNTIL BULLDOG FOOTBALL:
FRESNO, Calif.- Fans are rallying together to paint San Francisco red on Saturday, Sept. 3. Many Bulldog fans have organized charter busses to bring Fresno State pride to the Bay Area.
"I have coordinated Chicano Alumni busses and tailgates for Bulldog Football since Ratcliff Stadium days," said Manuel Olgin. "By way of example, we had a joint tailgate with the USC Mexican-American Alumni Association on the USC campus when we last played them. It was packed and a great fiesta!"
The Chicano Alumni group is one example that has organized a motorcoach that will provide transportation and parking for only $40 per person. This package deal includes pre and post-game stops at Casa de Fruta, transportation, parking, bottled water, a breakfast burrito, movie entertainment, prizes, good company, and Bulldog pride.
"I have been a Bulldog fan since the days of Fresno State and the Mercy Bowl in the early 1960's ( I was just a kid)," Olgin said.
Fans are getting together to save gas and stadium parking fees. Not to mention forming the biggest red wave Candlestick Park has ever seen. Each group transportation is leaving Fresno early enough to arrive in San Francisco with plenty of time to spare to enjoy the pre-game atmosphere.
Don't miss out on the chance to be a part of the red wave and enjoy the "Battle at the Stick," experience as your `Dogs take on Cal.
"We Are Your Team!" - The Fresno State Bulldogs open their 2011 season against the California Golden Bears at Candlestick Park in San Francisco on Sept. 3, 2011.
