Harrell Receives WAC Honor

DENVER, Colo. - One day after he was named the national defensive lineman of the week, Fresno State senior defensive tackle Logan Harrell was named the Verizon WAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
This is the second time in Harrell's career that he has been named the conference's defensive player of the week. On Sunday, the College Football Performance Awards honored Harrell as the national defensive lineman of the week.
Harrell led Fresno State in its win over North Dakota, as he set a new career-high with 11 tackles in the game. He had 4.5 tackles for a loss and one and a half sacks against the Fighting Sioux.
The 6-2, 275-pounder out of Santa Margarita, Calif. is leading the team in tackles this year with 22 through three games and he leads the WAC and ranks fifth nationally with 6.5 tackles for a loss. For his career, he has 15 sacks and 24 tackles for a loss. Harrell needs two more sacks to break into the top 10 for the most in school history.
