Tennis Competes in ITA Kickoff Weekend

FRESNO, Calif. - The 35th-ranked Fresno State men's tennis team heads to UCLA's Los Angeles Tennis Center this weekend to compete in the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
The stakes are high as the spring season swings into full gear. The Bulldogs will compete against UC Irvine, No. 9 UCLA and No. 51 Alabama during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend at UCLA. The `Dogs are playing for a berth at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships hosted by University of Virginia in February.
UCLA is one of the 30 universities hosting ITA Kick-Off Weekend events where sixty men's and women's teams will be competing across the country.
The `Dogs enters the tournament with high spirits after the close match against No. 12 Pepperdine last Sunday in which sophomore Francis Alcantara defeated No. 21 Sebastian Faneslow. The match was cancelled due to rain and rescheduled for March.
The Bulldogs begin the weekend on Saturday at 9 a.m. against UC Irvine.
