Sophomore shooting guard Kevin Olekaibe (Las Vegas, Nev.) scored a career-high 43 points, including 25 in the second half to fuel the Bulldogs' come-from-behind 78-72 win over Seattle University, and hit back-to-back 3-pointers that forced the first of three overtimes against WAC leader Nevada. Olekaibe's 43-point effort set a school record for most points in a 40-minute game and tied for the third-most by any Division I player this season. It was also the most by any WAC player since Utah State's Jaycee Carroll tallied 44 against New Mexico State in 2007. Olekaibe tallied a 12-for-25 clip from the field and made all 14 of his free throws against the Redhawks to become the first Fresno State player to score 40 points in a game since Courtney Alexander did so in an overtime game back in 2000. In that second half versus Seattle U, Olekaibe hit the go-ahead 3-pointer and converted four crucial free throws in the final 1:27 that helped seal the comeback win for the 'Dogs. Olekaibe followed up the best scoring night of his career by single-handedly erasing Nevada's largest lead of the game when the Pack led 53-47 with two straight deep 3-pointers in a span of 36 seconds that tied the game and forced extra time. For the week, Olekaibe averaged 27.0 points per game, hit seven 3-pointers and went 17-for-18 (94.4 percent) at the free throw line. Other Nominees: "We Are Your Team!"
