Baseball Hosts California Tuesday

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball team will host the California Golden Bears on Tuesday night at Beiden Field. First pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m. and will be featured on 940 AM KYNO with the radio call by Guy Haberman and Ray O'Canto.
The Bulldogs then host the Mountain West's New Mexico Lobos for a four-game weekend set from March 30-April 1.

HARLAN TABBED AS VERIZON WAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Fresno State senior pitcher Thomas Harlan was named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for March 19-25. Harlan, a senior from San Bruno, Calif. (Archbishop Riordan HS), pitched eight scoreless innings and struck out 10 batters without allowing a run last week. Harlan made two appearances and posted a 1-0 record, along with his first save of the season and fourth of his career. This is the second honor of the season for Harlan and marked the Bulldogs' third conference weekly award of the year.
BULLDOGS VS. THE GOLDEN BEARS
When Fresno State and California meet on the diamond on Tuesday night, the programs will be playing each other for the 121st time. The Bulldogs are looking for their first win over Cal since a 18-1 rout of the Golden Bears back in 2004. California owns a 61-59 edge in the all-time series tally.
'DOGS POUNDING THEIR WAY THROUGH MARCH
Fresno State has won six of its past seven games heading into Tuesday night's game with California. The Bulldogs' offense has been on fire over the stretch. Fresno State has outhit opponents .290 to .260 with a 31 to 13 edge in runs batted in.
BATESOLE NEARING 600-WIN MILESTONE
With a 597-404-1 overall record, head coach Mike Batesole is just three wins away from reaching 600 for his career. He has amassed over 300 wins at Fresno State in nine seasons at the helm and is 169-102 overall in Western Athletic Conference play.
