Baseball Travels to Play UC Davis

FRESNO, Calif. - After visiting Santa Clara and Hawai'i last week, the Fresno State baseball team will finish up its longest road trip of the regular season by playing a non-conference game against the UC Davis Aggies on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
There will be no radio coverage of the contest between Fresno State (15-16) and UC Davis (11-16), which marks the Bulldogs' fifth-straight away from home. However, live statistics will be available at www.gobulldogs.com through Gametracker.
This is the first meeting of the season between the schools, who will also square off at Beiden Field on May 2 at 6:05 p.m. in another midweek match-up.
The Aggies are led by Kevin Barker (.352/7 doubles/6 RBI), David Popkins (.333/3 HRs/8 RBI) and Paul Politi (.305/32 hits/18 RBI) at the plate.
On the mound, UCD features senior pitcher Dayne Quist, who is 4-0 this year with a 2.39 earned run average and a team-leading 55 strikeouts. The Aggies have a total of five pitchers with sub-4.00 ERAs.
UC Davis sports an 8-6 record at home this season and the Aggies are trying to snap a six-game losing streak, which all came on the road.
Later this week, Fresno State hosts San Jose State for a weekend WAC series with first pitch slated for 6:05 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, before closing the three-game set on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m.
Bulldog Bites
The Bulldogs have won four of their past six midweek games (Tuesday-Thursday).
Fresno State has turned 10 more double plays than its opponents (28 to 18).
Fresno State is 6-3 this season in games decided by 1 or 2 runs.
Three Bulldog pitchers (Thomas Harlan, Tyler Linehan and Justin Haley) have each fanned 40 or more batters this season.
Fresno State's Aaron Judge owns a team-best .327 batting average and Austin Wynns has connected for a team-high 12 doubles.
