La Buena Ticket Office Takeover a Success

FRESNO, Calif. - La Buena 101.9 FM held a Ticket Office Takeover at Fresno State of Friday, offering special season tickets for the upcoming 2012 Bulldog football season.
La Buena and ESPN Deportes set up shop all day Friday at the Fresno State Ticket Office at Bulldog Stadium and sold season tickets for the special one-day-only price of $101.90. With all the promotion and hard work from La Buena and ESPN Deports, 97 season tickets were sold on Friday.
"We knew the power and reach of La Buena and the Hispanic market," Senior Associate AD for External Relations Paul Ladwig said. "Today's success comes from our partnership with these two fine radio stations. We cannot thank them enough for their energy, effort and love of Fresno State football."
"It's been a fun day out here," added Erwin Higueros, who does play-by-play in Spanish for Fresno State's football games on ESPN Deportes. "We're trying to promote Fresno State football to the Hispanic community, so you can't beat that."
Higueros and ESPN Deports were live on the radio all day outside the Bulldog Ticket Office as was La Buena 101.9 FM. Head coach Tim DeRuyter joined Higueros live on the air briefly to talk about Fresno State.
"With coach DeRuyter coming in you can't help but get excited because you see that huge smile that he has," Higueros added. "He looks at you straight in the eye and just says `it's going to be a different year.' "
ESPN Deportes broadcasts Bulldog football home games on 1600 AM in Fresno. In addition to calling the 'Dogs, Higueros has also done Spanish radio for the San Francisco Giants for the past 15 years. He called Giants' pitcher Mat Cain's perfect game against the Houston Astros on Wednesday night.
