Men's Tennis Slated for UC Davis Fall Invite

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State men's tennis is set to compete at the UC Davis Fall Invitational this weekend, Oct. 3-5 at the Marya Welch Tennis Center in Davis, Calif.
Fresno State will be represented by freshmen Jakob Keppelmann and Youssef Hassan as well as sophomores Euan McIntosh and Alexandros Georgios Vakouftsis.
The 70 person tournament features some of the top competition on the West Coast, including Cal, Nevada, Pacific, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, UC Davis and San Francisco.
Starting with doubles play on Friday, Hassan is paired with McIntosh to take on the number four seed, Nevada. With the same start time, Keppelmann and Vakouftis will face Evertt Maltby and Jesse Ross of UC Davis.
In the first round of singles flight A, Hasson will face Sacramento State's Roy Brandys and McIntosh will take on Alec Adamson of UC Davis. In the singles flight B bracket, Vakouftis is set to play Wil Martin of Saint Mary's and Keppelmann is slated to a match up with Saint Mary's Sean Alves.
The tournament kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday with doubles matches. Singles matches will follow, starting at approximately 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday's games will begin with doubles play at 8:30 a.m. each day.
