Colorado Springs, Colo. - In the last away game of the regular-season, the Fresno State women's soccer team fell 4-0 to the United States Air Force Academy on Friday at the Cadet Soccer Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Bulldogs hold a 4-1 series record over the Falcons at the conclusion of Friday's game.
Air Force scored first in the 19th minute of the game followed by a shot past Bulldog goalkeeper Domenique Banta in the 27th minute and put one more on the board in the 39th minute to send the `Dogs into the half trailing the Falcons by three.
"I am disappointed that our team effort was not good enough in the first half," head coach Brian Zwaschka said. "We got punished and we were left with too big of a hill to climb. Credit to Air Force for putting the game away in the first half."
Fresno State put up an aggressive fight by recording eight shots in the second half but none got past Air Force goalkeeper Alex Kahalley who made a total of six saves for the Falcons.
Senior Jaycee Bingham led the `Dogs in shots with three against Air Force and two on goal. Bingham is currently the second highest player in the league for goals scored behind New Mexico's Kaitlyn Lomsnes.
Goalkeeper Alyssa Wilson entered the box late in the second half to mark the eighth game the sophomore has played this season. Freshman Kacy Dunn made her first start for the Bulldogs and recorded two shots against the Falcons.
