FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team fell 2-1 to the Colorado College Tigers on Sunday at Bulldog Stadium.
Freshman Alissa Pham scored her first goal for the Bulldogs in the 1st minute of the game, giving Fresno State an early 1-0 lead over the Tigers. Colorado College answered back in the 17th minute to tie the game 1-1 with a shot past Fresno State's goalkeeper by senior midfielder Kaeli Vandersluis.
Due to a red card drawn early in the game, Fresno State was faced with the obstacle of finishing the remaining 88 minutes of the match with one less player then Colorado College.
"We did a good job of regrouping at the half to make sure everyone really understood what their jobs were considering we were going to have to continue playing a man down," head coach Brian Zwaschka said. "I'm really proud of the team for doing everything that was asked of them but it just wasn't enough in the end."
Sophomore goalkeeper Alyssa Wilson made her seventh start guarding the net for Fresno State with 13 saves against the Tigers in the 90 minutes played.
Sunday's matchup marked the 19th game played this season and leaves the Bulldogs with a conference record of 3-7-0 with one game remaining this season.
