Soccer Caps 2014 Season

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team honored its senior class and finalized its 2014 season on Friday at the new soccer and lacrosse stadium. The `Dogs took on San Jose State (8-8-3) and battled rainy weather conditions but fell 4-0 to the Spartans.
The `Dogs totaled eight shots on the night and goalkeeper Domenique Banta recorded five saves against the Spartans during Friday night's matchup.
San Jose State scored had back to back goals in the first half, getting on the board in the 33rd minute and scoring again just three minutes later. In the second half, Spartan defender Alex Donaldson tallied another point for San Jose with a penalty kick past Banta followed by a backwards kick that found the back of the net in the 85th minute by Lupita Estrada.
Senior Jaycee Bingham, redshirt junior Joana Lopez redshirt senior Riley Fielder and senior athletic trainer Stefany Anserlian took the field with their loved ones before the match to be honored in the annual Senior Night ceremony.
The reigning 2013 Coach of the Year, Brian Zwaschka concluded his sixth season as the head coach of the Bulldogs and was assisted by second year, Lauren McAdam and Sean Steele in his first season coaching at Fresno State. The `Dogs finish the season with an overall record of 4-16-0 and a conference record of 3-8-0.
