COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Mountain West announced its Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference Teams today. All-Conference selections are awarded to the top-three finishers in each event at the MW Outdoor Championships, which were held May 14-17 at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex on the campus of the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo.
Seven individuals from the Fresno State men's and women's track and field team were named All-Mountain West as well as the winning women's 4x400 relay team following last weekend's action in Laramie.
All four of the members off of that winning relay team, also were honored in their individual event, giving them two all-conference honors. Junior Je'Nia Sears won the long jump. Sophomore Dezirae Johnson won the 400 meters with a personal-best time. Kyra Johnson finished second in the 400-meter hurdles and freshman Njeri Omawahleh garnered a third place finish in the 200 meters.
On the men's side, Devin Harrison led the group of three all-conference athletes. The junior won the long jump with a personal-best jump and set a new stadium record in the process. Harrison was joined on the all-conference team by teammates Roderick Dash (Hammer throw) and Brice Sandri (Discus).
