Bayonet Golf Course
Drawing rave reviews for its recent renovation, Bayonet Golf Course has ushered in a new and exciting era for the landmark golf course that overlooks the famed Monterey Peninsula. Bayonet Golf Course, designed in 1954 by General Robert McClure, provides both challenges and inspiration to golfers, and was re-sculpted by award-winning golf course architect Gene Bates. Retaining its classic tree-lined character, while showcasing Bates' elegant bunkering and graceful greens, the new Bayonet offers expanded views of the bay. Although the overall length of Bayonet increased only 16 yards from its original design, the strategic and visual impact created by Bates' bunkering is immeasurable. With 7,104 yards of oak and cypress-lined fairways, and four sets of tees, the course is a par 72, with a slope of 141 and a rating of 74.8 from the championship tee box.
Black Horse Golf Course
Black Horse Golf Course was designed in 1964 by General Edwin Carnes, and includes the most breath-taking views of the Monterey Bay imaginable. The most recent renovations transformed Black Horse GC into a longer, more challenging championship golf course. With long rolling fairways and alluring panoramic views of the Monterey Bay, from the back tees Black Horse is a par 72 layout, measuring 7,024 yards, with a slope of 141 and a rating of 73.7.
