Women's Golf Heads to Minnesota

FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno State women's golf team travels to Minneapolis, Minn. to play in the second annual Minnesota Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
The 14-team tournament will be held for the second straight year at the Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, previous host site of the 1916 U.S. Open, the 1927 U.S. Amateur, the 1957 Walker Cup, the 1988 U.S. Women's Amateur and the 1998 Curtis Cup.
The 14 Division I teams competing in the tournament include Minnesota, Kent State, Nebraska, GRU-Augusta, Cal State Fullerton, Illinois, Texas State, Colorado, Texas, SMU, East Carolina, Purdue, Fresno State, and Kansas.
"I am very excited about this week in Minnesota," said head women's golf coach Emily Milberger. "We had a short but strong work week after Colorado and I know we laid the foundation for this week's success."
The line up for the `Dogs includes senior Madchen Ly, sophomore Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir, junior Hannah Sodersten and freshmen Mimi Ho and Samantha Spencer.
The tough line up will make for good competition, as well as give the `Dogs a challenge and some good experience.
