Sodersten's Career-Low 69 Highlights Day Two at LVCS

BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Senior Hannah Sodersten's career-low 3-under 69 highlighted the second day of play at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown for the Fresno State women's golf team on Monday. The Bulldogs' leader for season scoring average (72.21) posted 70 three times over 13 rounds in the fall before breaking into the 60's at Boulder Creek Country Club.
During Sodersten's personal best day, she registered a turkey on the back nine, carding three-straight birdies on holes 14-16. She was 1-under on the front nine, and 2-under on the back. The senior climbed into a tie for 26th against the 105-person field with 18 holes left to play.
In addition to Sodersten, two more Bulldogs joined her in going subpar on Monday, Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir and Mimi Ho. The duo each recorded a 1-under 71. Bjorgvinsdottir is 1-over after two rounds (T-60th) and Ho is 5-over (T-92nd).
As a team, Fresno State moved up one position from Sunday's opening round, into 16th place. The team is 3-under (573) at the event following a 4-under 284 on Monday -- a five stroke improvement from round one.
The final round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown tees off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday (shotgun start). Live scoring can be followed on birdiefire.com.
