FRESNO, Calif. - With Homecoming at Fresno State taking place this Saturday as the Bulldogs host Utah State at 7:30 p.m. PT, GoBulldogs.com caught up with a few former Bulldog football players to find out what their favorite memory is from their playing days in Bulldog Stadium.
Henry Ellard, 1979-82
"I would have to say my favorite memory in Bulldog Stadium was my first TD in the new stadium. It was in 1980, the first game played in Bulldog Stadium vs Montana State. I caught a 5-yard slant on the left side of the field. I broke a couple of tackles on my way across the field and down the right sideline. With the help of my teammates, I ended up in the end zone."
Kevin Sweeney, 1983-86
1985 California Raisin Bowl
"It was two top 25 teams playing for an undefeated season. 'Dogs win 51-7! We beat them in all phases of the game. The defense dominated and the offense executed. We were the only undefeated team in the country in 1985, finishing 11-0-1. We finished the season ranked No. 16 in the country."
Chris Pacheco, 1984-85
1985 California Raisin Bowl
"Kevin [Sweeney] was the offensive leaders and I was fortunate to be the defensive leader and we pummeled Bowling Green and their high draft pick quarterback 51-7 to finish 11-0-1. That is still the best record in the history in for Fresno State football!"
Travis Brown, 2009-12
"My favorite memory has to be when I got my first career sack against Cincinnati. It happened in front of a sold out crowd and right in front of our student section. Seeing the crowd light up and the student section go crazy is a memory I will always carry with me!"
