Bulldogs Begin Play at UCSB Classic

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Fresno State men's tennis team opened its fall season on Friday at the UCSB Classic. The doubles team of junior Euan McIntosh and freshman Jeremy Moser got the Bulldogs' lone win of the day, topping Oregon's Daan Maasland and Simon Stevens, 8-7, in the Flight A Doubles bracket.
In the doubles C Flight, Nikolas Papic and Alexandros Vakouftsis dropped a close 8-6 result to Loyola Marymount's Jamie Thorp and Alex Bourgios. In the singles A Flight, McIntosh and Papic were unable to pick up a set in their matches, falling 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-3 respectively.
Moser was the lone Bulldog to take a set against his opponent on day one of the tournament as he grabbed the opening set 6-4 over Anders Holm in the C Flight. He ultimately dropped the final two sets 6-4, 6-3.
Tomorrow's matches will begin at 9 a.m., PT.
