FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State men's head tennis coach Luke Shields has announced the addition of Patrik Pech to his roster for the upcoming spring season.
A native of Prague, Czech Republic, Pech is a top 25 junior player in his home country where he has won national tournaments. The 6-foot-3 player is also ranked as the No. 55 men's player in the Czech Republic. He currently has a 13.13 Universal Tennis Ranking.
"We are excited to have Patrik join our team," Shields said. "He has a lot of upside. His strong work-ethic and great attitude are qualities that we noticed while recruiting. We expect him to come in right away and be an enthusiastic team player. We are thrilled to get started with Patrik and see the impact that he will make on this team."
Pech will look to follow in the footsteps of Czech players like Rudolf Siwy, Jakub Cech, and Mirko Zapletal who had tremendous success at Fresno State during the last decade.
