Strong Showing in Seattle for 'Dogs

SEATTLE -- Fresno State women's indoor track and field had another solid weekend, this time in the Pacific Northwest at the Husky Classic inside the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor.
Bulldog runners shined in the 400 Meter Dash. Kyra Johnson ran a season-best 56.05 second race to finish 11th and is now tied for fourth in the Mountain West Conference. Kyra's sister Dezirae Johnson, who is already ranked third in the conference following her performance last weekend in Albuquerque, ran a 56.61 to finish 15th and Kimberley Efonye ran a season-best 56.69 to grab an 18th place finish. Efonye also moved up to 10th in the conference, giving the Bulldogs three runners in the top 10 in the event.
Freshman Tiffany Gilmore recorded a throw of 57 feet, 7.5 inches (17.56 meters) to finish sixth in the weight throw. She was the only freshman to finish in the top nine in the preliminaries and advance to the finals.
A large group of Bulldogs will return to action on Monday, February 16 at the Save Mart Center for the Run for the Dream meet. Competition gets underway Monday evening.
