FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State women's indoor track and field concluded the regular season portion of their schedule on Monday evening at the Run for The Dream meet at the Save Mart Center.
The Bulldogs recorded two event wins in the meet.
Junior Karissa Bell won the pole vault by clearing 12 feet (3.66 meters). It was her second best mark of the season, behind the 12 feet, 2 inches (3.71m) height that she cleared at the New Mexico Classic a week ago.
Also picking up an event win was senior long jumper Je'Nia Sears. The Fresno native jumped 20 feet, 1.75 inches (6.14m) to win. Sears is ranked No. 2 in the Mountain West, just an inch behind New Mexico's Aasha Marler.
Fresno State throwers finished 3-4-5 in the weight throw. Tiffany Gilmore threw 58 feet, 3.75 inches (17.77m) to finish 3rd. The throw was just .25 inches off her season best. Tawnya Turton threw 54 feet, 7.5 inches (16.65m) to finish fourth and was followed by freshman Kayla Hopkins, who threw a season-best 54 feet, 3.75 inches (16.55m). The Bulldogs are one of only two schools in the Mountain West to have three weight throwers in the top 14.
Next up for Fresno State is the Mountain West Championships on February 26-28 at the Albuquerque Convention Center, hosted by the University of New Mexico.
