Baseball America Tabs Ward Preseason All-American

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State catcher Taylor Ward picked up a third preseason All-American honor on Monday as he was announced a second-team selection by Baseball America. Ward was named a Louisville Slugger preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball in December, and by Perfect Game in January - each second-team selections.
With three preseason All-American selections, Ward matches Aaron Judge in 2013 before he entered his junior season, a season in which Judge was selected by Baseball America, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game. The NCBWA have yet to announce its preseason team.
Also on the docket are the preseason All-Mountain West nominations and preseason poll, which is slated to be released on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Fresno State will start its season on Feb. 13 with a three-game series against UC Irvine, home at Beiden Field.
