Fresno State has carried a lot of momentum in recruiting and looks to bring the best prospects to the Valley to compete for championships. Coming off back-to-back Mountain West championships in 2012 and 2013, and appearing in the 2014 Mountain West Championship game, the Bulldogs have been well received on the recruiting trails.
"I'm really excited about the hard work that our coaching staff put in and we believe it is going to pay off with an exciting day tomorrow for National Signing Day," DeRuyter said.
Fresno State already has several members of its 2015 recruiting class on campus. Members of this class include quarterback Chason Virgil and defensive back Alan Wright, who were January enrollees at Fresno State and currently on campus taking classes and working out with the team. Additionally center Jacob Vazquez, who walked on the team last year, will be put on scholarship this season and count towards this year's class for scholarships allotted.
Virgil was a four-year starting quarterback out of West Mesquite, Texas and named the District 12-5A co-Most Valuable Player his senior year in 2014. Wright, originally from San Antonio, Texas, played the last two seasons at Blinn College.
Vazquez was a sophomore last season for the Bulldogs and was the back-up center. He played one season at Butte College before joining Fresno State last year.
