`Dogs Sweep USC Upstate in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS - The Fresno State men's tennis team earned its third sweep of the season today as the team defeated UCS Upstate 7-0 on Saturday in a neutral site match in New Orleans.
The Bulldogs came out and split the first two matches in doubles before Sai Kartik Nakireddi and Nikolas Papic clinched the point at No. 2 with a 6-4 win over Viktor Selander and Jamie Yates.
Adam Glynn started singles off on the right foot for Fresno State, defeating Selander 6-1, 6-0. On court six, Alexandros Vakouftsis knocked off Felix Ewers 6-4, 6-3. Youssef Hassan then clinched the match for the `Dogs with a 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 4.
With the dual match already in hand, Euan McIntosh, Nikolas Papic and Eric Komati finished up their matches with wins to finish off the sweep.
The Bulldogs will open up conference play at home on March 10. Fresno State will host Utah State at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center at 2 p.m., PT.
