Bulldogs Host Boise State on Sunday

FRESNO, Calif. -- In a battle for positioning in the upcoming Mountain West championships, the Fresno State men's tennis team will host Boise State on Sunday at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. The dual match is scheduled to start at 11 a.m., PT.

Last Time Out
- The Bulldogs ended a four-match road stretch against ITA Top 75 teams by falling 4-1 at No. 36 Stanford. The `Dogs finished the week 2-2 against their four ranked opponents.
Papic Playing Big
- After playing at No. 3 or lower, Nikolas Papic moved up last week and has gone a combined 2-1 at No. 1 and No. 2.
- Papic's one loss came to No. 41 Tom Fawcett of Stanford in three sets.
Doubling Up
- Since Sai Kartik Nakireddi and Nikolas Papic teamed up in doubles beginning on Feb. 14, the duo has gone 12-5.
- Adam Glynn and Euan McIntosh are 7-3 on the year, though five of their matches have gone unfinished.
- In recent weeks, McIntosh has teamed up with Yousef Hassan and the two have posted a 4-2 record.
Doubles a Key
- Since March, Fresno State is 6-0 in matches when it was won the doubles point.
Winning in the Middle
- Fresno State has relied on its No. 3-5 spots, as the team has posted records of 9-6, 13-5 and 15-4 records in the lineup this season.
- The .712 winning percentage between the No. 2-5 spots is significantly higher than that of the .400 from the team's other three spots.
Shifting Lineup
- After going 5-5 in the opening 10 matches of the season, the Bulldogs switched around their line up and have since won eight of their last 12.
- Playing in the top three spots, Euan McIntosh and Eric Komati moved down in the lineup and prior to last week's four matches against ranked opponents had won a combined nine matches in a row.
Tough Road Against Ranked Opponents
- Fresno State had struggled against ranked opponents to start the season, going 0-4, but the team went 2-2 on the road versus ITA Top 75 teams last week.
- The `Dogs pulled off a 4-3 win at No. 72 UC Irvine and a 4-1 victory over No. 75 UNLV.
Swiss Freshman
- Since falling in in the first match of his career, Joshua Zeoli has been on a roll, losing just one match since Jan. 16.
- The freshman compiled a 7-2 record before being sidelined with an injury.
Papic Earning Conference Honors at Six
- Despite playing in the No. 6 position against Loyola Marymount , Nikolas Papic earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors on Feb. 26 after earning the dual-match clinching point in three sets. The native of Santiago, Chile also teamed up with Sai Kartik Nakireddi to capture the doubles clinching point.

- After Sunday's match, the Bulldogs will host UC Santa Barbara and Nevada next week to close the regular season.
