Bulldogs Rally to Defeat Boise State, 4-3

FRESNO, Calif. -- After dropping the doubles point, the Fresno State men's tennis team rallied against Boise State for a 4-3 win in a crucial Mountain West matchup on Sunday at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. It was only the Bulldogs third victory this season when dropping the doubles point.
The `Dogs (14-9, 3-3 MW) went one up in doubles as Adam Glynn and Eric Komati blew by Brian Foley and Danny Moyer, 6-1, at No. 3, but Boise State responded with 6-4 and 6-3 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to earn the opening point.
The Broncos (10-15, 3-3 MW) grabbed a 2-0 advantage as Moyer topped Alexandros Vakouftsis 6-3, 6-1 on Court Six. From that point on, the Bulldogs claimed three consecutive matches to take a 3-2 lead.
Sai Kartik Nakireddi began the `Dogs' rally with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the No. 2 spot over Thomas Tenreiro. Euan McIntosh followed that up with a 7-5, 6-3 win on Court Three over Toby Mitchell before Glynn topped Foley 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4.
BSU halted the run and tied the match at 3-3 as Garrett Patton defeated Nikolas Papic in three sets on Court One, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. In the final singles match, Boise State's Lewis Roskilly held the upper hand with a 6-2 win in the first set, but Eric Komati came back with consecutive 6-3 sets to clinch the dual match for the `Dogs as they move into three-way tie for fourth in the Mountain West standings with Boise State and UNLV.
The Bulldogs will be back on the court on Monday at noon as the team hosts No. 65 UC Santa Barbara at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
