Fresno State has also changed the date for its season-opening game against Abilene Christian, which was moved to Thursday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. That Thursday will mark the end of FresWoW, the week of welcoming to students returning campus for the start of the semester.
"We are hopeful that by moving the season-opening game to the Thursday before Labor Day weekend, that it will allow our fans the opportunity to both watch the Bulldogs open up the 2015 campaign and still enjoy their full holiday weekend," Fresno State Director of Athletics Jim Bartko said. "It is also a part of the Fresno State Week of Welcome so we are happy to work with the University to culminate a great week on campus and have a great football game with our students in attendance."
With the schedule settling in now with the conference's non-Saturday telecast being set, Fresno State has set its Homecoming weekend for the Oct. 10 game against Utah State.
In all, the Mountain West released 11 games Wednesday as part of its slate of non-Saturday telecasts for the 2015 season. These 11 games are set to be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network and ESPN networks.
Between the two television partners, up to 48 football games will be televised this year on their various national platforms. Additional broadcasts by CBS Sports Network, ESPN networks, ROOT SPORTS and the Mountain West Network powered by Campus Insiders will be announced at a later date.
