Bulldogs Host Nevada on Senior Day

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State men's tennis team will host its final match of the season on Saturday versus Nevada at 12 p.m., PT at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. Prior to the match, the team will honor its lone senior, Sai Kartik Nakireddi.

Last Time Out
- The Bulldogs toppled their third ranked opponent this season on April 13 with a 4-3 win at home over then-No. 65 UC Santa Barbara. Adam Glynn paired with Eric Komati clinch the doubles point, coming from behind to win 7-6, and later, the freshman clinched the dual match for the `Dogs in straight sets in singles play.
Up Next
- After Saturday's match, the Bulldogs will shift their focus to the Mountain West championship. The conference tournament is scheduled to begin on April 23. The Bulldogs are currently in a three-way tie for fourth.
Playing it Close
- Just over a third of Fresno State's matches this season have gone down to the seventh point.
- The `Dogs are 6-3 this year in matches that have come down to the final point and have won their last four 4-3 decisions.
McIntosh Stepping Up
- Since the middle of March, Euan McIntosh has been the Bulldogs' most consistent player in singles competition. In his last 11 matches, the sophomore is 8-1, finishing all eight wins in straight sets.
Doubling Up
- Since Sai Kartik Nakireddi and Nikolas Papic teamed up in doubles beginning on Feb. 14, the two have been the team's top doubles pair with a 13-6.
- Adam Glynn and Euan McIntosh are 7-3 on the year, though five of their matches went unfinished.
Doubles a Key
- Since March, Fresno State is 7-0 in matches when it has won the doubles point.
Winning in the Middle
- Fresno State has relied on its No. 3-5 spots, as the team has posted records of 11-6, 15-5 and 16-5 records in the lineup this season.
- The .724 winning percentage between the No. 3-5 spots is significantly higher than that of the .413 from the team's other three spots.
Shifting Lineup
- After going 5-5 in the opening 10 matches of the season, the Bulldogs switched around their line up and have since won 10 of their last 14.
Knocking off Ranked Opponents
- Although Fresno State had struggled against ranked opponents to start the season, going 0-4, the team has gone 3-2 since the start of April versus ITA Top 75 teams.
Papic Earning Conference Honors at Six
- Despite playing in the No. 6 position against Loyola Marymount , Nikolas Papic earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors on Feb. 26 after earning the dual-match clinching point in three sets. The native of Santiago, Chile also teamed up with Sai Kartik Nakireddi to capture the doubles clinching point.
Swiss Freshman
- Since falling in in the first match of his career, Joshua Zeoli has been on a roll, losing just one match since Jan. 16.
- The freshman compiled a 7-2 record before being sidelined with an injury.
