T&F Individuals and Relay Team Earn All-MW

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Mountain West announced its Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference Teams today. All-Conference selections are awarded to the top-three finishers in each event at the MW Outdoor Championships, which were held May 13-16 at The Sports Deck on the campus of the San Diego State in San Diego.
Three individual women and a championship relay team all garnered all-conference honors. 400-meter hurdle champion Kyra Johnson was the Bulldogs' only individual event winner. She ran a personal-best 58.22 to win the event. Njeri Omawahleh and Annemarie Schwanz each finished runner-up in their respective events to earn all-conference. Omawahleh ran a school-record 23.45 in the 200 meter to finish second on Saturday. Schwanz finished second in the 1500 with a time of 4:30.86.
The team of Kyra Johnson, Nailah Harris-Murillo, Dezirae Johnson and Omawahleh ran a school-record 3:37.39 in the 4x400 relay to win the event for a second straight year.
