FRESNO, Calif. - The Rimington Trophy Committee released Tuesday its 2015 Spring Watch List, which named Fresno State senior Bo Bonnheim as a part of the list of 50 of the best centers in Division I football.
Bonnheim and Utah State center Austin Stephens were the only two players from the Mountain West to make the watch list.
Bonnheim started all 14 games for the Bulldogs at center last year, helping the `Dogs average 406.1 yards of offense per game to rank No. 4 in the Mountain West. He also aided the rushing attack that averaged 182.4 yards per game with 22 touchdowns on the ground and protected for a passing attack that produced 223.7 yards per game.
Behind Bonnheim's blocking and the rest of the Bulldog offensive line, which returns three starters in 2015, running back Marteze Waller rushed for 1,368 yards, 11 touchdowns and 6.1 yards per carry that was good for the 20th-best per-carry average in the nation. Waller's 2014 rushing total was the seventh-best in Bulldog single-season history.
He was a member of the first offensive line unit at Fresno State to start every regular season game together since starts by game began being recorded in 1990 by the school.
Bonnheim has made 21 career starts after starting the final seven games of the 2013 season at left guard.
He is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree majoring in animal science and lifestock management.
