Calubid Leads Bulldog Contingent at MW Championship

TUCSON, Ariz. - Freshman Harold Calubid held steady for the Bulldogs at the Mountain West Men's Golf Championship, shooting a second consecutive 72 to stay inside the Top 20. The team dropped to 11th place after a round two 301.
Fresno State held on to its sixth place position earned from day one, for the better part of the second round. The 'Dogs carded a team 3-over on the front nine on the Catalina Course at OMNI Tucson National, but lost footing on the back nine, in particular the 18th hole. The team was 14-over on the back nine, which included four players with double bogeys or higher on the last hole.
Michael Pugh, who led Fresno State after the first round is in a tie for 28th. He was even on the front, and shot 5-over on the back. He's 5-over (144) for the tournament.
The final round of the MW Men's Golf Championship tees off at 7 a.m. The first Bulldog off the No. 1 tee will be Neil Bautista at 7 a.m. Live scores can be followed at GolfStat.com.
