'Dogs Conclude Season Sunday at MW Championship

TUCSON, Ariz. - Fresno State wrapped up the Mountain West Men's Golf Championship on Sunday, finishing in 11th place at OMNI Tucson National Golf Resort. Freshman Harold Calubid led the Bulldogs with a 4-over 217 and placed 22nd in the field of 55 individuals.
"The Mountain West Championship is always a great learning experience for the entire team," said head coach Chad Spencer. "We have a fantastic core coming back next year and I am excited to tee it up next fall."
Calubid carded a 2-over 73 on Sunday to end a consistent weekend on the links - he tied for lead for the most pars (41) at the championship. He shot 72-72-73 over the three days for the top Fresno State finish. Sophomore Michael Pugh kept his second place position among the Bulldog contingent with a final round 75 (+4), he finished in a tie for 36th overall.
Freshman Justin Avery fired the lowest Fresno State score on Sunday, carding a 1-over 72.
In their last rounds of collegiate golf, senior Keenan Nelson fired a 4-over 75, and senior Neil Bautista shot a 4-over 76.
