FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team announced on Thursday that it will be hosting three different camps, each geared toward respective age groups. Each of the three camps will have two sessions to choose from during the summer of 2015.
Of the three camps, two are coed -- the Pups Half Day Camp (pre-school -- 3rd grade) and the Junior Bulldogs Day Camp (grades 4-8), while the Advanced Position Camp (grades 9-12) is solely for girls.
The Pups Half Day Camp (pre-school -- 3rd grade) is all about the fundamentals of soccer. Boys and girls will learn the basic skills of soccer through a variety of games. Session one is June 22-25, and session two is July 13-16. Both will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The cost is $90.
The Junior Bulldogs Day Camp (grades 4-8) will focus on developing the technique and tactical awareness of players. It will have a healthy dose of drills, games and small sided activities to ensure players get plenty of touches on the ball. Session one is June 22-25, and session two is July 13-16. Both sessions will start at 9 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break in the middle. Camp cost is $225.
For the more advanced lady soccer players, the Advanced Position Camp is the third option for girls in grades 9-12. This camp will allow girls to train exactly like the Fresno State players do. It will prepare players for the specific demands of their positions and focus on the intricacies of their position. Of the two sessions available, both will be held on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Session one is between June 16-25, and session two is between July 14-23. The cost for the Advanced Position Camp is $150.
